Types of grant

Special List

All of the grants on this list are made on a one-off basis and relate to a specific project for which applicants have requested support. This could include purchase/ refurbishment of a building, purchase of specialist equipment, other similar capital expenditure, or one year's running costs. Requests must be for £10,000 or more for one year only.

Please note that all grants offered for the purchase, construction or refurbishment of buildings, or for the purchase of land, are subject to acceptance of our Terms and Conditions of Accepting a Capital Grant. These must be signed by the organisation’s Chair of Trustees and its Treasurer or Finance Director. We strongly recommend that you read these BEFORE submitting your application to the Charity. General List

This List covers annual grants made for more than one year, and up to three years. They are usually for a specific item in the applicant's budget such as a salary, or towards the costs of a particular project. Grants can be used for core costs. Requests must be for £10,000 or more, per annum.

Small Grants

Small grants of £10,000 or less are given to organisations with an annual income of less than £150,000.

Grants can be for one-off capital items such as equipment purchase; these grants must be used within six months of being awarded. Grants can also be towards one year's running costs.

Small Grants are one-off payments although repeat applications can be considered.
